Seems like the ideal situation. You need a ride. Maybe you are in Manhattan but it is a Saturday Night and hailing a cab is impossible. Or you are in your small town but the local bus line does not travel to where you need to go. So you download the Uber Application to your smart phone, request a ride and await your driver. An amazingly convenient way to get from Point A to Point B.

But before you hop in and take off with your Uber driver, we would like to make you aware of some of the fine print that is contained in the Service Agreement. Important information that is essential to your well-being:

1.     UBER AND LYFTS TERMS OF SERVICE: The agreement states that customers "may be exposed to situations involving third party providers that are potentially unsafe, offensive, harmful to minors, or otherwise objectionable."

2.     ALSO CONTAINED IN THE AGREEMENT:  "Uber does not guarantee the suitability, safety or ability of third-party providers," (The Drivers)

3.     LASTLY:  Uber also does not have "any liability arising from or in any way related to your transactions" with drivers, according to its terms of service.”

Basically the agreement states that UBER is not responsible for the behavior or safety of the drivers that they are employing to provide you with your ride. You, the client, are getting into the vehicle at your own risk.

Most ridesharing scenarios turn out wonderfully, with the passenger arriving safely, securely and happily at their destination.
